Incessant rains: Authorities issue advisory, helpline numbers in Baramulla | KNO

Baramulla, Apr 15 (KNO): Amidst the incessant rains, the district administration in Baramulla issued helpline numbers and issued an advisory asking people living in low-lying, flood prone areas to refrain from venturing outside and remain vigilant. In an order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), it said that people living in low-lying areas, foothills of Karevas and near the rivers/ Nallahs, are advised to refrain from venturing into flood prone areas. “People must keep emergency supplies handy and stay tuned to local weather updates; besides, they must remain vigilant and prioritize safety above all else,” it reads. It also suggested the general public to avoid unnecessary travel, especially in areas prone to flooding and people residing in flood-prone areas, known for water logging, may look for safe locations, in consultation with local authorities. Meanwhile, the administration also established a control room for any emergency and asked people to contact the Control Room on phone number 01952-234343, in case of any emergency—(KNO)
